II. KNOW THE DATES
GENERAL
- November 8, 2022
Voter Registration Deadline
- October 18, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. - Deadline to register is 21 days before Election Day. You can register online, via mail, or in person.
Absentee Ballots
Ballot Request Deadlines:
- No need to request - all active registered voters are automatically mailed an official ballot between October 19 and October 25, approximately two weeks before Election Day.
- Military and overseas voters are encouraged to contact their county election official or email the State Elections Division at elections.sos@sos.oregon.gov to discuss options for receiving and returning a mail-in ballot. Ballots will be mailed to military and overseas voters at least 45 days before Election Day. A signed ballot can be faxed or emailed if the voter completed and returns a Secret Ballot Waiver Form.
Ballot Return Deadlines:
- November 8, 2022 at 8 p.m. - Deadline to mail in or drop off your completed ballot at your county elections office or any official drop box (must be postmarked on or before Election Day).
- November 14, 2022 - Deadline for absentee ballots postmarked on or before Election Day to be received by your county elections office via mail.

IV. WHERE TO VOTE
Polling Location:
- School, firehouse or community center, use the Oregon Secretary of State's My Vote website to find where to cast your ballot.
V. WHAT TO TAKE TO THE POLLS
Voter ID Laws:
- Oregon does not require photo ID to vote in person, except for first-time voters in federal elections.
Accepted Credentials:
- Here is the list of accepted credentials.
Don't have a valid ID?
- You only need ID when registering to vote or updating your voter information.
- If you do not have an Oregon driver's license, permit or ID card, you can still use the online voter registration application. The information you enter will display on a voter registration card (PDF document) that you will need to print, sign and deliver to your county elections office to complete your registration.
