II. KNOW THE DATES
PRIMARY
- August 13, 2022
Voter Registration Deadline
- August 3, 2022 - Deadline to register to vote with the Paper Voter Registration Application.
- Voters may register to vote and vote at their polling places or online through election day.
Ballot Request Deadlines:
- All voters receive their ballots for the 2022 election by July 26, 2022.
- August 6, 2022 - Final day to request a ballot to be sent to an alternate address.
Ballot Return Deadlines:
- August 13, 2022 - Absentee ballots must be received by the County Elections Division by 7 p.m.
GENERAL
- November 8, 2022

- October 31, 2022 - Deadline to register to vote with the Paper Voter Registration Application.
- Voters may register to vote and vote at their polling places or online through election day.

- All voters receive their ballots for the 2022 election by October 21, 2022.
- November 1, 2022 - Final day to request a ballot to be sent to an alternate address.
Ballot Return Deadlines:
- November 8, 2022 - Absentee ballots must be received by the County Elections Division by 7 p.m.
Registered voters in Hawaii who want to vote by absentee ballot this fall should submit an absentee ballot application to their County Elections Division as soon as possible.

Polling Location:
- Hawaii conducts its elections by mail, so there are no polling locations. Here is a map of statewide locations for Ballot Drop Boxes.

V. WHAT TO TAKE TO THE POLLS
Voter ID Laws:
- Hawaii requires photo identification for first time voters who registered by mail.
Don't have a valid ID?
- If a voter’s recitation of name, residence address & date of birth matches the poll book, a regular ballot will be provided.
