II. KNOW THE DATES
GENERAL
- November 8, 2022
Voter Registration Deadline
- October 18, 2022 - Deadline to register to vote online or for mail delivery.
- Voters may register and vote at their polling places on election day
Ballot Request Deadlines:
- November 1, 2022 - Final day to request and return a completed absentee ballot application.
Ballot Return Deadlines:
- November 8, 2022 - Absentee ballots (via mail or in person) must be received or postmarked by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Registered voters in Maryland who want to vote by absentee ballot this fall should submit an absentee ballot application to their local board of elections as soon as possible.

V. WHAT TO TAKE TO THE POLLS
Voter ID Laws:
- Maryland requires a photo identification for first-time voters only.
Accepted Credentials:
- Here is the list of accepted credentials.
- Contact your local board of elections for an acceptable list of options.
Don't have a valid ID?
- Once you have registered to vote, no further voter ID is required to vote in Maryland, except for some first time voters.
