Voter Registration Deadline
- August 27, 2022 - Deadline to register to vote online or postmarked by this date for mail delivery.
Ballot Request Deadlines:
- August 29, 2022 - Final day to request and return a completed absentee ballot application by 5 p.m.
Ballot Return Deadlines:
- September 6, 2022 - Absentee ballots (via mail or in person) must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Registered voters in Massachusetts who want to vote by absentee ballot this fall should submit an absentee ballot application to their local election office as early as possible.

IV. WHERE TO VOTE
Polling Location:
- School, firehouse or community center, this simple form will tell you where to go to cast your ballot.

V. WHAT TO TAKE TO THE POLLS
Voter ID Laws:
- Massachusetts requires identification for first-time voters, and sometimes for others. Bring one to be safe.
Accepted Credentials:
- Here is the list of accepted credentials.
- Contact your town clerk for a list of acceptable credentials.
Don't have a valid ID?
- If you're a first-time voter who is unable to present ID when you check in, you may vote a provisional ballot and return with acceptable ID by close of polls.
- If you're not a first time voter and can't produce acceptable ID when asked for it, you must still be permitted to vote. However, your ballot must be challenged. Your ballot will be cast normally, and will only be re-examined in the case of a recount, court order, or audit.
