Five people are dead, including the gunman, after a shooting on a hospital campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The shooting occurred on the second floor of the Natalie Building at Saint Francis Hospital.
Officers found the shooter dead, apparently of self-inflicted wounds, beside a rifle and handgun. He has not been identified.
Tulsa Police Department Deputy Chief Eric Dalgleish said in a news conference that dispatchers received a call about an active shooter at roughly 4:52 p.m. local time.
Officers responded to the scene at roughly 4:56 p.m. and made contact with the victims and the suspect roughly five minutes later.
Capt Richard Meulenberg confirmed the number of dead and described the scene of the shooting as “catastrophic."
While details still remain unclear, the Tulsa shooting marks another incident of gun violence while the nation continues to mourn last week's attacks in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and two teachers were killed in a mass shooting.
